Exchange address book sync with outlook live

I am having a terrible time finding this answer.

We are using Exchange 2003 for our on premise email system for out faculty. The domain is @domain.

We are using live at edu/outlook live for our students. The domain is @my.domain.

What is the simplest way to get a copy of our on premise address book to outlook live?

What is the simplest way to get them synced.

Okay, so I added a few contacts tonight as my school just changed email systems. I have contact names, and emails entered. If I'm in the "mail" tab, and click "new" to create a new email, when I type the name of the contact, nothing shows up or can be found. I have to type emails only, not names. How can I set things up so that I can search names to get emails rather than searching emails all the time?

Hi All,

Before posting this question I searched the forum but could not found any relevant posting. I am trying to Show/Hide in Gal using following powershell command

Set-Mailbox -Identity ggerald -HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled $true

But getting the following Error

A positional parameter cannot be found that accepts argument '-HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled'.

Though this option (-HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled) shows up while writing the powershell script.

I know there is DefaultMailBoxPlan and GaldisabledMailBoxPlan option available but we would not like to go with that due to other constraints.

Please help.

I am on the executive board for one of my school organizations. I am trying to create a list server/group with the 70+ members in the group included so that I can just send the e-mail without having to type all 70+ e-mails. I have setup the group and made it private and ensured that I am the only one allowed to send e-mails, however my group is still not receiving them and sometimes I receive error e-mails back saying that the message was not deliverable.

Every time I have logged in for the past 2 months I have always been asked if I want to accept a particular e-mail to my contact list. I have clicked accepted and denied A LOT of times and I don' t know how to turn this annoying pop-up. It is an IM feature for my school outlook web app. Do you think that this would be an error on my school's part or I just need to suck it up and live with it?

I am the administrator for our Live@EDU domain. We are rolling out the Live@EDU service slowly, and initially, we are only offering it to the administrators (superintendent, principals, etc...) in our district. We are changing domain names from our current e-mail system. What we need to be able to do is import all contacts into our global address list for our users with our existing e-mail address, not our Live@EDU e-mail address. I see the "External Contacts" tab on the Outlook Live control panel, but I don't see a way to import contacts using a .csv file or something similar. Is it possible to achieve this without having to create the external contacts one at a time. We have approximately 500 contacts to create.

So, to recap, we need to allow our Live@EDU users to select our non-Live@EDU e-mail address from the GAL. Is there an import option for external contacts?

I have several groups I regularly send emails to. When I try to create a new group, it will not let me cut and paste the email from my Excel database. It seems to only allow me to add a member that is already in our "system". How do I create this group with 100+ names without typing each one in separately?

I accidentally blocked someone I know, I've clicked on their name numerous times and clicked 'unblock' but she is still blocked. how do i fix this?

I get numerous group emails with a friends email address in it that i blocked by accident, and everytime it has the blocked sign next to her name, so i click on it and click unblock and it seems to work. but then i'll get another email and she's blocked again. this has been happening for months now. is there another way to unblock her email address for good?

Im a student in fayette conunty public schools and i use mi email alot but on the new site that we have migrated to the way to find contacts in the global directory is confusing and doesnt really help

and all of the messages and things that i had before the transition were lost im guessing but if theres anyway 2 recover them that would help

How do I permanently block someone?

I want to be able to permanently block someone so that their emails do not appear in my email AT ALL. I know I can add people to my blocked sender list but their emails still show up in my junk mail and any time there is a message there I have to go check if it was delievered to the wrong box. I want to completely block someone so their emails don't even show up in my junk mail box. Is there a way to do this?

Hello,

I would like to be able to create custom address lists within Live@edu using the powershell "New-AddressList", but it seems that I don't have the permissions to do so.

According to the technet documentation here ( http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd638132.aspx ), In order to create address lists, the "Organization Management" permissions are required.

So my question is: Is it possible to get the required permissions to be allowed to create custom address lists? Or is there another way of creating custom address lists?

I would like to track maiden names in outlook contacts. I don't want them simply as a custom or user-defined field, but rather a part of the name. How do I do this?

I want to be able to choose to sort by last, first or first, last, or maiden, last, first , etc. I also want Outlook to recognize the maiden name as a name field.

I won't be using middle name for this, as some people truly have middle names also.

Using Outlook isn't a practical choice, as a large number of our users won't have ready access to (or no desire to use) Outlook to access their Live accounts. The GUI import option rumored to be in the works for R5 would be nice, but I'm not sure we'll be able to wait for R5 before going live with Live here.

That leads me to my question, is there any way to import a user's contact list via powershell with a CSV file? This isn't the most optimal solution, but would allow us to help the largest number of users move their contacts.

I am desperate to import my contacts from Thunderbird (CSV). But I do not have access to Outlook. So I will have to wait for you guys to catch up with every other major provider and offer web based importation of CSV files. When is it coming??????

Is there any update on importing contacts into Oultook Live?

This functionality was available for Hotmail accounts.

I understand that contacts can be imported using Outlook 2007 but this is not a realistic option when you have thousands of users who have been migrated from the previous Hotmail platform to Outlook Live.

Is it possible for OWA to sync Global contacts to Outlook 2007 ? I have set up the account on Outlook 2007 and it is reciving emails, But no Global Contacts are in the Outlook 2007 Address Book.
